Frequently Asked Questions

  • Minis on the Move offers thoughtfully guided, child-centered portrait sessions — most often photographed in the comfort of your own home. Sessions focus on timeless black-and-white portraits that reflect each child’s natural expression and personality, allowing attention to stay on the child as moments unfold with ease.

The experience is designed to feel calm, familiar, and unhurried, creating space for children to show up as they are — without pressure to perform.

  • Minis on the Move sessions are designed for children across a wide range of ages. The experience is intentionally flexible and responsive, allowing it to adapt to different personalities, energy levels, and stages.

For babies, sessions often work especially well once they’re able to hold their head up, but younger babies are welcome too. Every session is approached with care and adjusted to what feels most natural and comfortable for your child.

If you’re unsure whether a session is the right fit, we’re always happy to talk through what you can expect.

  • That’s completely okay — and very common. Sessions are designed to move at a child’s natural pace, without pressure or expectation.

Time is built in for children to observe, warm up, and feel comfortable before anything is rushed. Some of the most meaningful moments happen once children are given space to settle in.

  • Very little preparation is needed. Minis on the Move is designed to meet families where they are.

A small, thoughtfully curated setup is brought in and arranged with care. Sessions use a combination of natural light and professional lighting, so there’s no need to worry about having a perfectly bright or styled space. The goal is comfort, not staging.

  • Simple, comfortable clothing tends to photograph best. Soft, neutral tones and timeless pieces help keep the focus on your child rather than their outfit, allowing expression to stay front and center.

That said, the most important thing is that your child feels comfortable and like themselves. Children are always welcome to have a say in what they wear — clothing should never feel restrictive or stressful. When children feel at ease, it shows.

  • Yes. While sessions are designed with children at the center, parents and siblings are welcome to be part of the experience when it feels natural.

Sometimes that means parents stepping back to allow room for independence; other times it means sharing a quiet moment together. The approach is always responsive and guided by what feels right in the moment.
